The new Malcesine-Monte Baldo cable car.
Inaugurated in July 2202 by the current President of the Republic C.A. Ciampi the modern structure with it’s revolving cabin (the only one in Europe) takes just 10 minutes to reach the heights of Monte Baldo from Malcesine at 92 mt above sea level, on the shore of Lake Garda.
The departure point from the town has a large car park and lifts to enable easy access for those have mobility difficulties. The halfway point at 600 mt, San Michele, where the second leg of the cable car departs could be a stopping point and the start of energetic walk either up or down the mountainside!.
At the summit, the cable car station arrives at Tratto Spino at 1760 mt above sea
Level and is an ideal starting point for a stroll or some serious hill-walking amidst the suggestive, marvellous panoramas open before us.
